Where Does the Time Go?

Time is flying by for me right now. Prepping the gardens for winter and starting the Holly Bazaar planning seems to have shifted all of the quilting projects to the back burner, but I have managed to put together the two house runners (thinking that I will call them Starlight rather than 'house runners' 😉).

They are quite lovely and will be nice once they are quilted. Each measures approximately 17" x 36".

They are very similar but the stars that run down the centres differ slightly - in this one, each star is  made entirely from one fabric.

The second is slightly more rustic with a mix of colours used for the various star points.

They're fun.

I had several extra houses so I made a few more and sewed up a set of four placemats with them. Cute, huh?

Each placemat has a different combination of houses but they still work nicely as a set.

Here's a group shot of them all on the design wall before I had the outer borders attached.

The original plan was to sew two rows of squares above and below the houses but it wasn't doing it for me so I switched it up and added three bars top and bottom to simplify things.

Now to get down to the quilting. I had toyed with evenly spaced rows of stitching running the length of each runner but somehow it just doesn't seem like enough. I think it may end up being a cross hatch pattern but the jury is still out. I need to finish up in the gardens first!....M
