The corners that are cut away from the four-patch circles looked big enough to do something with...
...so I've been stacking them to the side and eventually making very tiny four-patches.
Finished they will be 1.5", which is pretty small, and there aren't nearly enough to make a quilt, but there are about 80 of them so I'm thinking they would make nice centres for Square in a Square/Economy Blocks. They are sort of like the starter for sourdough bread - tiny bits of one quilt feeding the creation of the next...M
Gorgeous fabric choices . . . this is going to be another masterpiece. I'm looking forward to seeing it all put together.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend and happy stitching.
Connie :)
Oh how delicious to be making a quilt out of nothing!! I love those sort of projects that just grow...and grow....!
ReplyDelete"Sourdough starter" blocks...I like that!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely way to look at the purposing of your scraps.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will become something gorgeous. How could they not when they are such pretty scraps.
Great idea for using up those leftovers! Love the colors too!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a wonderfully told and illustrated children's book by Phoebe Gilman entitled Something from Nothing in which a Jewish grandfather keeps transforming his grandson Joseph's baby blanket into new items as it progressively wears into smaller and smaller pieces of usable fabric.
